In November 2019, PUMA launched the latest model of its FUTURE FLASH football boot and the brand wanted to kick-off the boot launch campaign with a unique media and influencers event in the city of Barcelona.

The objective was to gain GLOBAL attention for the new FUTURE FLASH boot.

Everyone in the world of football talks about how fast the beautiful game has become. However, speed alone is no longer enough, what sets apart world class players is their agility.

Our concept focused around AGILITY REDEFINED.

Beautiful idea

We prepared a stunning reveal moment: we developed an innovative, one-on-one, play-off game, a human version of the famous arcade game, pong.

Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suárez, Jan Oblak, Dzsenifer Marozsán and Samuel Umtiti competed against each other and the whole event was presided over by PUMA Brand Ambassador, Thierry Henry, supported by an amazing 3D video animation of the new boot.

This unique experience converted the players movements and ball control into the movements of the digital paddle projected on the stage floor.  As the game progressed both the audience’s excitement as well as the speed of the ball increased, forcing the players to put their agility to the test.

Amplification

20 of the world’s most prominent football influencers were delighted by the innovative “pong” agility test and produced endless content of the event.

In addition, 80 high-level media, selected from around the world, attended the Barcelona presentation generating powerful, global content. Many of them also had the opportunity to conduct personal interviews with the ambassadors in the five, private media rooms created for the occasion.
